A research paper turned into a German explainer video
An English review paper on the early Solar System became an explainer video in German. Watch it, copy the request, and see its cost and our check.
How this was made. Audio and video overviews, slide decks and infographics are made with Google's Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM), on accounts that AutoContent operates. AutoContent has no agreement with Google. Google can limit or stop this access at any time.
What came out, and what we would change
This is the paper of the English podcast example, in a different format and language: outputType video, format explainer, language Deutsch. The result is a 1280 × 720 MP4 of 7 min 24 s: narrated slides with German captions, a diagram from the paper, and the AutoContent badge in the corner.
The story follows the paper: telescopes on young stars and microscopes on meteorites as the two kinds of evidence, the stages from Class 0 to Class 2, molecular clouds at about minus 263 degrees Celsius (10 kelvin), the meter barrier and streaming instabilities, the snow line and the late delivery of water, a young Sun at 70% of its present brightness, and millions of mega-flares.
One of the three open questions at the end, why our Solar System has no super-Earth, is not in the paper. The narration also calls the flares a thousand times stronger than anything the Sun does today; the paper gives a range of energies above the largest flares seen on the Sun today, not that factor.
An explainer video costs 50 credits, and this one took 12 min 20 s to generate. For the English version, send the same request with language set to English. The captions and the narration are both in German, from an English source.
