Convert any YouTube video into an AI podcast

Drop a YouTube URL and the AutoContent API extracts the transcript, condenses it into a two-host conversation, and synthesises the audio with the voices you pick. Listeners get a podcast version of the video they can play in the car or on a walk — no clicking around a video player.

How it works

  1. Step 1
    Submit your YouTube video

Send the YouTube video to the AutoContent API as a URL, file upload, or pasted text. The API accepts most public sources directly and supports authenticated uploads for private content.

  2. Step 2
    Pick your tone and voices

Choose from 50+ AI voices and a handful of presets that shape pacing, formality, and length. Defaults work for most use cases — tweak when the AI podcast is heading somewhere brand-sensitive.

  3. Step 3
    Receive your AI podcast

Generation typically completes in under five minutes. The API returns the finished AI podcast plus a transcript, share URL, and metadata you can plug into your existing distribution stack.

Frequently asked questions

Does the API need YouTube auto-captions to work?

It uses the auto-captions when they exist; for videos without captions, the API falls back to its own audio transcription. Either way you get a usable transcript and a generated podcast.

Can I convert long videos (30+ minutes)?

Yes. Long-form videos are summarised into a discussion-paced podcast — typically 8–15 minutes — that highlights the key arguments rather than reading the full transcript.

Will copyright-flagged videos work?

Public videos with public captions process normally. Private, age-restricted, or region-locked videos cannot be accessed via the YouTube API and will return an error.
